Tulum, Q.R. — Grupo Posadas has formally announced the company’s expansion of two new hotels set for the Tulum area of Quintana Roo.
The two hotels will consist of a 340-room Live Aqua Beach Resort Tulkal and a new Fiesta Americana All Inclusive Tulkal with 515 rooms.
Mauricio Carreón Lavalle, Commercial Director for Vacation Properties of Posadas, says that Posadas currently has 12 hotels and 2,632 rooms in Quintana Roo in destinations such as Cancun, Playa del Carmen, Cozumel, Chetumal and Kohunlich.
Throughout the southeast of the country, the company has 24 hotels and more than 4,500 rooms, which means that with the opening of the two new hotels, more than half of the company’s hotel rooms will be located in Quintana Roo.
“Posadas considers the Mexican Caribbean a very important multi-destination to continue with its growth and consolidation plans in the coming years due to its incomparable natural beauty and the attractive tourist services it offers for all kinds of visitors,” said Carreón Lavalle.
The selected location for its two hotels is 110 kilometers from Cancun in the municipality of Tulum, where Chemuyil stands out for having one of the most beautiful beaches in Riviera Maya, explained the manager.
The Live Aqua Beach Resort Tulkal hotel will be a luxury resort focused on tourists who prefer art, design, and sophistication, he added, while the Fiesta Americana All Inclusive of Chemuyil will be part of the five-star hotel chain oriented to Mexican hospitality and warmth.
The two hotels will be an investment of more than $100 million USD and are set to open for 2021.
